Internet Explorer 8 Open in new Tab/Window does not work

Issue:

You are unable to open a new Tab/Window or nothing happens when you open a new Tab/Window after updating to Internet Explorer 8

when right clicking and choosing open in new tab window or when clicking on a hyperlink.

Resolution:

Re registering the actxprxy.dll  file seems to fix this issue, the reasons for why this fix works are not clear.

Follow the Instructions below to re register the actxprxy.dll :

Click on Start —> Run and type cmd and hit enter.

In the command Prompt window type Regsvr32 actxprxy.dll  and hit enter

If the command was successfully executed, You will receive the message DllRegisterServer in actxprxy.dll succeeded

Internet Explorer 8 should now be able to handle the opening of  Hyperlinks that are programmed to open in new tab/windows without any issues.
